Like all children, the little thing was ever so shy upon meeting me, but within the hour, refused to relinquish me to my homework. She visited every weekend with her brother and we would sit in the hallway of the second apartment as she chattered away in a mix of Russian and Tajik while she braided my hair badly. I miss this child.
